WHAT IS GENERAL ABSORBENT GRANULES?
Perlite is the common name for a naturally occurring siliceous volcanic rock that is expanded by feeding raw ore into a furnace at high temperatures. The molten particles cause the water in the structure to rapidly transform into steam, creating countless tiny bubbles within the heat-softened glass particles. It's these tiny, glassy, sealed bubbles that form the porous structure of ultra-lightweight expanded perlite, giving it its excellent adsorption properties for controlling and cleaning up liquid spills. It is a lightweight white granular material that is easy to handle and pour. It provides a quick, inexpensive way to effectively act as the first line of defense for any hazardous or toxic spills.
